Hold onto your sombreros: The Frank Zappatistas return to Zeitgeist on May 25. Also be on the lookout for a return engagement (June 17) of GREEN, a documentary on Cancer Alley by National Student Academy Award finalist Laura Dunn. Ms. Dunn's film also won best documentary in the National Student Film Festival in New York City. Her film will be accompanied by two shorts on Cajun culture by Steve Duplantier, one of the founding editors of Mesechabe.
Mesechabe/Surregional Press will be scheduling readings, concerts & other events to raise money for two long overdue publishing projects and to cover legal fees in bull**** law boondoggle. We are $2,000 short of a load on John Sinclair's now-ready-for-the-printer FATTENING FROGS FOR SNAKES: Delta Sound Suite, and are gearing up for to publish Arthur Pfister's first full-length collection of his classic toasts & elegies, MY FAVORITE THINGS ("My Name is New Orleans," "Stagolee & Billy: A Sixth Ward Tale.") A June 16 wrap party for Michael Fedor's surreal collages at the Waiting Room Gallery seemed a good idea & Michael, Pati D'Amico & Bill Warren readily agreed.
If you're interested in reading, performing or helping in any way please let me know. I know for certain that the right Reverend Dave Kunian (sometimes of WWOZ) will perform a ritual exorcism of the spirit of Paranoia from the Plaintiff, who Shall Remain Nameless. It should be a transcendent evening.
